Jogger struck in Hinton hit and run last month

According to RCMP, a pedestrian was jogging on the roadside in the oncoming lane when a Dodge Dakota hit them. The vehicle then sped off and was last seen driving east on Switzer Drive.

Hinton RCMP are looking for witnesses to a hit and run that took place on West River Road in Hinton on Aug. 15 at around 6:27 a.m.

According to RCMP, a pedestrian was jogging on the roadside in the oncoming lane when a Dodge Dakota hit them. The vehicle then sped off and was last seen driving east on Switzer Drive.

Cpl. Lou Leroux with Alberta RCMP told the Fitzhugh that the pedestrian was struck in the arm but not seriously injured.

The suspect vehicle is described as a Dodge Dakota, quad cab (year 2000-2001) with tinted windows, rust patches on the passenger side near the rear and the front tires and a possible rack in the bed of the truck.

RCMP are now seeking eyewitnesses and anyone who may have dashcam footage recorded on Aug. 15 between 6:20 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. in the area of West River Road or Switzer Drive in Hinton.
