Jasper in January wrapped up with its annual Street Party on Saturday [Jan. 25], which features fire performers, musical entertainment, s'mores and more. The evening was capped off by fireworks above Centennial Park.

"It's a really good process for everybody or anyone that's grieving – even if you're not artistic – to pick up a brush or a pencil or find whatever medium moves you and create when you're feeling sad."

"Whatever your response to the artwork might be, it's all good, it's all allowed, it's all embraced, but we can't heal without feeling, and whatever we feel is part of our healing process."

The winter festival will bring back favourites such as the Jasper Pond Hockey Tournament, Mountain Malanka and Whisky, Wine and Hops. The festival caps off with a street party.

"Some of the Facts" is a collection of fictionalized stories based loosely on the people who lived and worked in Jasper National Park in its early days.

"After such a challenging year for families like the Beckmanns in Jasper, we wanted to provide them with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Along with the usual holiday programming in Jasper, elves will be organizing festive events in communities where residents have relocated, specifically Hinton, Edmonton, Calgary and the Bow Valley.

"This year, there will be an expanded Donate & Go Christmas Decoration section, which will include fully decorated trees with some available to rent over the holiday season."

"Wildflowers" will premiere at the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival on Saturday (Nov. 2).
