How is it that I find myself looking through the 1976 Jasper Junior/Senior High School yearbook instead of focusing on writing about the Arts Jasper Society and its 50th anniversary?

In the Western world, year-end celebrations were once observed to give thanks, to mark the coming of brighter days and to enjoy the company of family and friends.

Alberta’s students deserve the best. Unfortunately, our ability to attract and retain teachers to work in public schools is being eroded.

Where I come from, the time between Dec. 1 and Christmas is called the Quiet Time. People are meant to slow down their daily routines, contemplate all the good things in their lives and gain a new appreciation for them.
