MULLEN, Nicholas Joseph

nicholasmullen

It is with profound and unfathomable sadness that we announce the sudden death of Nicholas Joseph Mullen.  Nick was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease shortly after the death of his sister Alyssa in 2009, and with that, he faced a myriad of health challenges which ultimately contributed to his untimely death on May 2, 2024.  Nick left this earthly realm to suffer no more.

Nick and his identical twin brother, Chad, were born in November, 1986, in Vancouver, BC.  The family later relocated to the Sherwood Park area, where Nick completed his education and forged lasting bonds through team sports.  Summers spent at Pigeon Lake, shared with his brother Chad, deepened Nick's passion for water and aquatic activities.

Nick pursued a career in the oil fields, showcasing his skills as a certified welder for several years.  In 2017, he embraced a new chapter in Jasper, joining the ranks of CN Rail as a conductor before ascending to the role of engineer, where he concluded his professional journey.

Nick reveled in mountain life, relishing activities like hiking, biking, hockey, golfing, sledding, and skiing against the breathtaking backdrop of the Rockies.

Nick will be deeply missed by his beloved mother Beverly Lucki (Dennis), father George Mullen (Yoko), twin brother and best friend Chad (Jessica), his precious nephews, Cole and Nash, cherished grandmother, Nina, together with his step brothers, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.  Nicholas was predeceased by his grandfather Nicholas Lucki, sister Alyssa Mullen, cousin Curtis Lucki and stepbrother Cole Lawrence.

The family is forever grateful to the numerous people who have supported us with their compassion, empathy and kindness throughout this difficult journey.  We owe you an eternal debt of gratitude for serving as beacons of light during our darkest hours.

A celebration of Life will take place on June 21st, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Mirage Banquet Hall, 8170-50 Street NW, Edmonton, Alberta.
