‘Respect the goal of the road’

Dear Editor,

Maligne Tours proposes to open overnight accommodation at Maligne Lake to restore what existed previously. What a fantastic idea. I am sure that Maligne Tours is willing to make the entire experience a real throw back to the past. Surely they are willing to transport any construction materials needed via horseback and ferry across Medicine Lake. I am sure all construction workers and other employees for Maligne Tours new lodgings will be transported to the lake by the same means. Any supplies for these new barracks would also have to be forwarded by these more primitive means. And of course all guests will have to access the accommodations via the day long horseback ride and ferry across Medicine Lake to restore that experience that Maligne Tours is so enthusiastic about recreating. I wonder if these conditions would dampen Maligne Tours’ enthusiasm for this project.

The road to Maligne Lake was constructed to halt overnight stays at Maligne Lake. Let us respect the goal of the road and not allow it to transport any materials, employees or guests that stay in commercial lodging at the lake.
