Pine Grove Manor, an independent seniors living facility, was one of many buildings destroyed in last summer’s wildfire. The Alberta government has indicated that the facility will be rebuilt.

Should ongoing initiatives yield more housing units, the Jasper Recovery Coordination Centre will make offers to these households, following to the prioritization matrix.

"Administration believes that the work they conduct can be fulfilled by Town staff, and in doing so provide approximately $100,000 in annual operational savings."

The Municipality of Jasper is aiming to reach its housing targets through implementing initiatives outlined in its Housing Action Plan, such as looking at densification barriers and parking requirements.

On average, the transit system served 11.7 riders per hour in 2024, exceeding the 8.3 riders per hour forecasted in Jasper’s transportation strategy and action plan.

"It's critical that we in this time support the recommendations that come from that department to ensure that they're well positioned to continue to provide protection to our community."

Council decided against the name “Fireweed Avenue” due to hesitancy about including “fire” in the name.
