This holiday season there is a gift you can purchase that shares the great stories of Alberta in a fun, and educational way.
Nick Cranford has just released the “Word Search of Alberta”, a word search puzzle that highlights, and educates the users of the great history of Alberta.
Cranford, who is from Newfoundland, had to use unique ways to create his most recent word search.
“I had to use the internet to create some of the word search,” said Cranford. “I also used some of my personal experiences from visiting Alberta to help create the word search.”
The personal trips, and experiences weren’t Cranford’s true inspiration for his word search. That honour fell to his Great Nan, whose love for word searches sparked the idea for Cranford.
“My Great Nan used to love doing word searches every day,” said Cranford. “No matter what time of day it was, she’d have a puzzle book by her side. They were always there for her, especially when she was going through her cancer treatments.”
The presence of his Great Nan inspired him to do something in her honour. However, she was never able to see what he had created.
“She unfortunately passed away before I finished my first provincial word search,” said Cranford. “I did dedicate it to her memory.”
Since her passing Cranford has created multiple word searches across three provinces, including his most recent in Alberta.
After releasing the first volume of the Alberta word search Cranford was adamant that this is only the beginning of his plans for Alberta.
“I really want to get the word out in Alberta,” said Cranford. “I’m working hard to get the book out in stores, and even into the hands of the famous Albertans mentioned, including Brett Kissel and Chad Kroeger.”
The Alberta word search is a great way for Albertans to learn about the history of their province and is available on Amazon.
“I think I made something really special for you Alberta,” said Cranford.
