Hinton and Edson RCMP are seeking to identify a male suspect who pulled down the pants of three random women in public places and took a picture each time on Monday (Aug. 19).

The suspect approached these women from behind, forcibly pulled their pants down and took a photo each time, according to RCMP.

The first two incidents took place in Hinton – one at a fast-food restaurant and the other at the mall – and the third occurred at an Edson department store.

Both Hinton and Edson RCMP are actively investigating these incidents and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

“Essentially, we're just looking for public assistance, just trying to identify this [suspect], because obviously this is quite a disturbing incident to have happened,” said Const. Cory Riggs with the Alberta RCMP.

“So, just be aware of your surroundings, and if you do see anything, don’t be afraid to contact us and let us know because any information on this can be the key to solving it.”

The male suspect appeared to be in his early 20s and have a slim build, and he is estimated to be 120 pounds and five feet, eight inches in height.

The suspect also wore a black toque, a light-coloured hoodie, brown pants, black shoes with white soles and a blue medical mask.

His vehicle was a dark-coloured pick-up truck.

Anyone with information about this individual or incident is asked to contact Hinton RCMP at 780-865-5544 or Edson RCMP at 780-723-8800.

Crime can also be reported online through the Alberta RCMP app.
