The Alberta Blue Cross will be in town on Saturday (April 12) and would like to donate a limited amount of Easter hampers to seniors in the community.

The hampers will contain personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, tissue, toothpaste, etc.) and some Easter treats and will be given out on a first come, first serve basis to any seniors who would like one.

If you are interested, please come to the Jasper Food Bank, located in the parking lot of the Activity Centre (between the museum and the recycling area) between 3:15 and 4:45 p.m. on Saturday (April 12).

Those interested in a hamper but who are unable to make it at that time can contact Janis Marks at 780-931-6787. The food bank will also be open to seniors at that time if anyone requires a few extra items or has any questions about the food bank and its services.” 

Our next Seniors’ Society meeting will be next Monday (April 14) at 1:30 p.m. at the Upper Curling Lounge. Please feel welcome to attend and find out what your executive is doing for our seniors.

Our annual Seniors Spring Dinner will take place on Wednesday (April 30). All seniors welcome!

Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner at 5:30 p.m. Catered by Glenda the Great. Cost is $25 for dinner. Details to follow.

This Spring Dinner will be open to ALL SENIORS in Jasper, so please share this news and bring a friend!

  • Trivia Night with the Teens – Tuesday (April 22) at 7 p.m. in the Curling Louge.
  • Anxiety and Wildfires Presentation – Tuesday (April 29) at 10:30 a.m. at COS (627 Patricia Street)

Need help filing taxes? The Community Volunteer Income Tax program uses community volunteers to help file simple tax returns. To learn more, call 780-852-2100 or come by 627 Patricia Street.

Just a reminder that the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum accepts all refundables at the bottle bin behind the museum and thanks you for your donation. The “binners” and “truckers” are hard at work each day. We are still looking for volunteers for perhaps one hour a day every week or two weeks. Please contact Heather at 780-852-3013.

The Canadian Red Cross is available to support persons impacted in the 2024 Jasper Wildfire throughout their recovery, including support in understanding and navigating insurance. If you would like to speak to the Red Cross about these supports you can connect with them by emailing to [email protected] or calling 1-800-863-6582.

Mark your calendar as we have now confirmed the 57th annual Plant Sale will go ahead with the co-operation of the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum as the venue and Canadian Tire as our plant supplier.

Just a reminder to please choose the Jasper Seniors Society as the donation recipient at TGP when shopping. We are thankful that we receive a cheque for these proceeds win a regular basis. Please note on every third Wednesday of the month TGP offers seniors a 15 per cent discount on regular items after $50 purchase.
