Joe Coleman, a lanky right-hander who won 142 games in 15 major league seasons and was an All-Star in 1972 with Detroit, died Wednesday morning, his son said. He was 78. Casey Coleman said his father died in his sleep in Jamestown, Tennessee.

LONDON (AP) — Conservative politician Norman Tebbit, a key ally of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in her free-market transformation of Britain, has died at the age of 94, his family said Tuesday.

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Ed Fiori, who for 13 years was the only player to rally from a 54-hole deficit to beat Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour, died Sunday, the tour said on its website. He was 72. The tour said Fiori had been battling cancer.

CHICAGO (AP) — Bobby Jenks, a two-time All-Star closer and World Series champion with the Chicago White Sox , has died, the team announced Saturday. He was 44.
