The wildfire that has devastated the Town of Jasper has touched all of Alberta, Canada and across the world.

We’ve created this page to gather all the stories of loss, heartbreak, resilience and hope that our team has put together for an ongoing record of how this community has suffered – and how it will rebuild.

We’re asking businesses and organizations from across Alberta to support this initiative with advertising which will support both the people of Jasper as well as our local newspaper, the Jasper Fitzhugh, with 50% of all net proceeds from advertising in this section in the month of August going to the Jasper Community Team Society (JCTS)’s Jasper Fire Relief Fund.

Jasper firefighters, late Morgan Kitchen honoured with mayor’s awards

The Mayor’s Special Award is the highest possible recognition that can be bestowed by the Municipality of Jasper. Each year, council receives nominations and reviews all submissions, and the mayor has the honour of presenting them.

Parks Canada preparing Jasper campgrounds for next summer

Major frontcountry campgrounds reopening include Whistlers, Miette and several self-registration sites. Wapiti Campground will operate at reduced capacity, while Wabasso and Whirlpool group campgrounds will remain closed for ongoing restoration.
