Jasper wildfire disaster resources for evacuees have been created

Major wildfires have forced over 10,000 residents and 15,000 visitors of Jasper to evacuate. During this devastating time, wildfire fundraisers have been established to help evacuees and disaster readiness.

With thousands of Jasper residents evacuated from their homes, help and support have been pouring in. Resources for evacuees are listed below.

For those looking to help those who have been evacuated, here are some organizations that are taking donations for those affected by the Jasper wildfires:

 

The Better Business Bureau is warning people to be cautious when choosing a crowdfunding source or when making an online donation. 

The BBB recommends people verify a charities legitimacy, don't donate to unsolicited requests, especially on social media and to donate directly to well-known charities like the Red Cross.
