Mountainview Colts host Rocky Friday after splitting weekend games

The Colts host the Rocky Rams on Friday and the High River Flyers on Saturday, with both games at the Didsbury Memorial Complex starting at 8 p.m.

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts host the Rocky Rams on Friday and the High River Flyers on Saturday, with both games at the Didsbury Memorial Complex starting at 8 p.m.

The 3-7 Colts are currently in sixth place in the Heritage Junior B Hockey League northern division, with the Sylvan Lake Wranglers in first place after weekend play.

The Colts split home games over the weekend against Three Hills.

On Friday, Oct. 18, the Colts hosted the Thrashers at the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

The locals got goals from Konnor Poitras (unassisted), Jay Heistad (assists Simon Leischner), Haiden Parks (unassisted) and Zane Labbe (Kai Biggin and Seth Sideroff). The Thrashers got seven goals for a 7-4 win.

Colts netminder Grayden Barr stopped 10 of 12 shots and Jordan McGinnis stopped four of seven shots. The Colts managed 52 shots on Thrashers’ netminder Shane Ford.

On Saturday, Oct. 19 the Colts travelled to Three Hills for a matchup at the Centennial Place Arena.

The Colts got a goal from Tanner Austin (assists Leischner and Blake Stoddard) for a 1-0 win. Colts netminder Nicholas Smith stopped all 27 shots he faced.
