Didsbury's Mountainview Colts to play Okotoks after first win of season

Heritage Junior B Hockey League team is now 1-3 so far this season.

DIDSBURY - The Mountainview Colts play host to the Carstar Okotoks Bisons at the Didsbury Memorial Arena Friday night sporting a 1-3 record so far this season.

The 2024-25 Heritage Junior B Hockey League team will then play an away game in Red Deer against the Vipers on Saturday night.

The team got its first win of the 2024-25 season over past the weekend, defeating Sylvan Lake on the road on Saturday.

During the game at the NexSource Centre, the Colts got goals from Jay Heistad (unassisted) in the first period, and the game winner by Tanner Austin, with assists from Simon Leischner and Kyle Allan, in the second for the 2-1 win.

Colts netminder Kyle Allan stopped 23 of 24 shots for the win.

On Friday night, the Colts played host to the Cannex Cochrane Generals at the Didsbury Memorial Arena.

In that game the locals got off to a good start, with first period goals from Corbin Rae, assisted by Haiden Parks, and Konnor Poitras, with assists from Cohen Richardson and Hunter Sellers.

Cochrane came back with one in the second and two in the third for a 3-1 win.

Colts netminder Jordan McGinnis stopped 33 of 36 shots.
