Two families have been displaced following a fire at a mobile home park in Hinton on Thursday.
Hinton Fire Rescue was alerted by dispatch to a suspected outside fire at the Hillcrest Mobile Home Park at 8:24 a.m. that day.
Upon arrival, firefighters assessed that the fire was spreading rapidly to a shed and a home, according to a press release.
Four mobile homes were impacted, and two families were displaced, with Hinton Fire Rescue noting “the challenging weather conditions and the rapid spread of the fire”.
“With the size of the fire and the number of homes at risk, Incident Command established a secure water source from the closest hydrants best to support the fire operations required,” it added.
While responding to this fire, Hinton Fire Rescue was also dispatched to two alarm calls and one motor vehicle collision with injuries with the support of Yellowhead County Fire Rescue.
"The dedicated emergency responders displayed remarkable courage and skill in facing some of the most dangerous weather conditions that any firefighter may encounter,” said Hinton Fire Rescue Chief de Beaudrap.
“I extend my gratitude for their prompt response, dedication, and incredible work."
The Hillcrest Mobile Home Park fire remains under investigation, but no further updates are expected to be released.
