I’ll admit it, our Christmas tree is up already.
If there was ever a winter to start the most wonderful time of the year a little early, 2020 is the one to do it. I think we all need a boost of festive cheer this year.
Jasper is always a special place to be, but there’s some extra magic during the festive season.
Having lived in Jasper for three years, I have experienced some of the town’s charming Christmas traditions like the World Tree, Christmas parties, light displays and skating on Mildred Lake.
But reading last week’s Our Jasper Stories and your answers from our Question of the Week (see below), I feel the warmth from the community coming together during the frosty holiday season.
From Santa visits to bonfires, sleigh rides to singalongs, Jasper is and has been home to so many memories from these events.
Our holiday season will be different from years past, but I am sure the community in Jasper will find beautiful, creative ways to mark the occasion.
We should support our local businesses, give where we can, and offer help to those in need.
We will find ways to be together, apart, and get through this festive season with hopes of a brighter new year.

Last week’s Question of the Week: What's your favourite Jasper Christmas tradition?
Nancy Addison - I loved it when all the homes on Miette Avenue put little candles in the sand filled paper bags along the boulevard on Christmas Eve! That was magic!
Hannah Stainton - The community tree that they have been doing.
Jo-Ann Sherlow - Delivering my mom and dad's cookie trays.
Annie Swales - The Atha B’s ‘wagon’ going around town singing carols. The fire department handing out candy canes and, of course, skating on Mildred on Christmas Day - and not to forget the wonderful Christmas concerts the kids did.
Devon Blackstock - When they used to do real sleigh rides out at the JPL golf course, we'd sing carols and they had a fire pit and hot chocolate out at one of the holes.
Jenny Krauss - Going Ice Skating at JPL on Christmas Day where we ran into anyone & everyone that was "home for the holidays".
Leasa Croteau - It was a long time ago, but all the lights and skating at Patricia Circle. Whenever I smell wood smoke on a cold winter night, it always reminds me of Jasper.
Jenna McGrath - The World Tree. Such a great feeling of Common-unity.
Mark Whiteman - When the fire truck with Santa came down the street on Christmas Eve.
Lesleigh Campbell - The Santa Train!
Heidi Kongsrud - The Community Christmas singalong.
Marianne Garrah - The Furlottes’ house! And all the amazing lights in town.
