A man broke into the Petro Canada at the east end of town Nov. 16 and stole cigarettes, lottery tickets and electronics. The theft occurred in the early morning hours and triggered the store’s security alarm.
The RCMP responded to the alarm, but arrived too late, missing the culprit as he quickly fled the scene.
Fraser Bjornson of the Jasper RCMP said video of the incident—which has been shared on Facebook—appears to indicate the man had been in the store before, because he knew exactly where to go.
