Tourism Jasper appoints new director

Mary Darling was appointed executive director of business development for Tourism Jasper last week.

She will be in charge of the Jasper Visitor Experience team, marketing and branding, media and public relations, events and partnerships and the travel trade portfolio. 

Darling brings with her years of experience in regional and international tourism and hospitality from her time with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.

Tourism Jasper is Jasper’s destination marketing organization.

Council approves trophy case funding

Town council unanimously approved the Jasper Heritage Rodeo’s $1,500 funding request to purchase a mobile trophy case May 15.

The funding will come from the Economic Development Fund.

The rodeo’s application was the only one the municipality received by its March 1 deadline for funding requests.

The trophy case will be used to promote the rodeo, both during its festivities and at other community events.
