Several Jasper churches and other organizations are opening their doors to the community this holiday season. Here are some of the celebrations taking place.

Jasper Lutheran Church: Dec. 24, candlelit service begins at the church at 7:30 p.m. At 9:30, a candlelight services will be held at the Lodge. On Dec. 27, Christmas songs and stories will be held at 10:30 a.m. with the Olson family.

Jasper United Church: On Dec. 24, Christmas service will begin at 7:30 p.m with all offerings going to the Yellowhead women’s shelter in Hinton.

Jasper Anglican Church: On Dec. 24 at 7 p.m., a family service will be held. At 11 p.m. a more traditional service will take place.

Jasper Baptist Church: A family oriented service begins on Dec. 24 at 5:30 p.m. The evening includes caroling.

Catholic Church: Dec. 24 family service will begin at 7 p.m. Midnight Mass will occur at 12 a.m. On Dec. 25, a service will take place at 10 a.m. A service will also be held on Dec. 31 at 7 p.m.

Solstice walk: Dec. 21, a solstice walk will be held through Centennial Park on the longest night of the year.

Other churches will also hold services, but could not be reached by deadline.
