Brandon Indic’s competitive riding season has come to an end after finishing in seventh place at the B.C. Cup championship in Kelowna last weekend.
The race was to decide the B.C. circuit champion, based on total points throughout the year, as well as to appoint the winner to next year’s national team.
Indic, who couldn’t win the circuit because he isn’t from B.C., said he was disappointed about not making the national team, but is still optimistic, as he has one more chance to make next year’s national team at the first race of the year at Mont Tremblant, Quebec in May.
“It’s the first race of the year next year, it’s like a second chance basically. But no one really gets any training for it,” Indic said.
Indic said the Kamloops course wasn’t quite what he had expected, and by the time his race time came along the course was full of ruts. Despite finishing in seventh, Indic still holds this year’s title as fastest rider in Alberta in the Junior Expert category.
